We, in ZMP
INC., believe that a robot is the most suitable hadns-on
material for learning basic engineering ideas for
students in such disciplines as mechanical
engineering, electrical and electronic engineering,
control engineering, information engineering among
others.
Humanoids attract a great
deal of attention, and so with our [ZMP e-nuvo
Series], we are looking forward to contributing most
effectively to the teaching and learning of
fundamental engineering skills through our four type
of robots (BASIC,ARM,WHEEL,WALK).This Series include
not only these advanced robots but also practical
textbooks so that instructors and students can
immediately use their robots in class
We are pleased to say that since 2004 our bipedal
robot e-nuvo WALK (formerly known as e-nuvo V.2.5) and
our e-nuvo BASIC kit (formerly experimental kit) have
been well received in high schools, universities and
laboratories in and outside Japan.Based on the
feedback from these our users, we have perfected the
robot textbooks and created new robot models, and now
we are releasing them under the unified engineering
practical program that we call ZMP e-nuvo
series. They are independent materials so that
the user has the freedom to choose the appropriate way
to read them according to his needs.
We are
really looking forward for teachers to use these in
class!

With this bipedal
walking robot the student can put into
practice the technologies learned with the
other models. This robott has a distributed
processing structure composed of 4 CPUS and 12
Joints (motors- degrees of freedom) suitable
for different purposes from teaching to
research. We concentrate on controlling the
whole system with a PC, system that consists
of serial links similar to ARM.
At ZMP we also have
started producing an alternative version with
the exterior covering of nuvo
|
 |
 |
For the student to learn
through practice about robot motions (motion
equations) and how to control them, we present
a two-wheeled inverted pendulum robot. This
robot permits us to understand easily not only
Modern Control theory but also how to use
sensors such as encoders and gyro-sensors in
our algorithms. The user also gets to know
about analysis and simulation through the use
of the well-established tools from MATLAB/Simulink |
 |
 |
In order to develop
bipedal walking robots as well as industrial
arm robots, it is indispensable to use link
structure analysis (kinematics) as well as
design using CAD. With an arm robot the
student can apply what he has learned using e-nuvo
BASIC to link structures similar to the ones
used in e-nuvo WALK's legs. Our textbooks
cover not only mathematical concepts such as
interpolating or kinematics applying linear
algebra, but also strength analysis and part
design using 3D CAD. |

 |
This set covers the
basic themes for controlling and operating
robots from basic concepts about LEDs, motors
and potentiometers to themes such as Feedback
control, PWM, A/D conversion, Motor control
using processors, etc. It also includes the
starter kit from Renesas Technology to study
embedded systems. It is well-suited for both
beginners and experienced developers

 |
With Windows CE as
its OS and the leg structure of e-nuvo WALK,
this advanced robot sometimes called "the
walking computer" is the first
consumer-oriented robot in the market.
Although not part of
the e-nuvo Series, this stylish and
sophisticated robot (designed by Mr. Kiyoyuki
Okuyama from car company Ferrari) can show
students what they can achieve by studying
robotics with [ZMP e-nuvo Series].

The idea behind our
new [ZMP e-nuvo series] is to contribute to
education of engineers with practical skills
through the use of advanced robots. Robots
present a great opportunity for learning
diverse disciplines such as mechanical,
electric, electronic or control engineering.
We expect the students, the future players in
tomorrow's engineering world, to acquire the
necessary knowledge to surpass the limits of
today's academia. Our [ZMP e-nuvo Series]
includes not only advanced robots, but also
ready-to-use and easy to understand textbooks.
We are ready to support practical education
and further your students' interest in the
world of robotics and engineering.

Advanced Robots
arranged in a Simple System! |
|
Lineup of
Textbooks ready to use in the
classroom! |
|
|
A Series of
Advanced Robots, integrating several
existing technologies in their
architechtures and a simple system of
textbooks to support learning through
a gradual approach. |
|
|
Based on
feedback from several professors such
as Prof. Mizukawa from Shibaura
Institute of technology and Prof.
Adachi from Keio University we have
developed a series of ready-to-use and
easy to understand textbooks. |
 |
|
With the
reliable quality of ZMP's PINO
and NUVO |
|
A wide area of
engineering knowledge covered
efficiently! |
|
|
We apply 5 years
of experience in robot development
using verified techniques such as PINO
ver2 internal CAN distributed system
among others. |
|
|
Adapted to be
covered in a series of 90 minute
lessons, the textbooks cover areas
such as mechanical, electric,
electronic, control and information
engineering. |

ZMP Original DC
Motors! Stable Control Systems |
|
Experiments to
assure a complete understanding |
|
|
Original CD
Motors with high torque, high speed
and low backlash. Their advantage over
ordinary Servo motors is that the
student can actually learn to
implement motor control in
microprocessors. |
|
|
We continually
strive to make sure students
understand the themes through the use
of simulations and experiments to
enrich the theoretical lessons, the
best approach for themes such as
programming,control, microcontrollers,
etc |
